Vancouver Airport Authority has a permanent, full-time opportunity for an Accounting Services Clerk in the Finance Department. Reporting to the Manager, Accounting Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing bank deposits and entering payments into the Oracle Financial system, as well as processing Accounts Payable cheque production runs.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing bank deposits
  • Preparing receipts for entry into Oracle Financial system
  • Monitoring receipt and application of Airport Improvement Fee remittances
  • Managing the petty cash float and post-dated cheques
  • Processing Accounts Payable cheque production and distributing cheques
  • Performing miscellaneous and Month End tasks, as required
  • Processing credit card payments
  • Conducting telephone verifications for banking changes
  • Managing incoming Finance mail


Key qualifications include:

  • Accounting Clerk or Administrative Assistant Certificate
  • Knowledge of accounting procedures (e.g., GL coding, debits/credits) and a solid understanding of the application of taxes
  • Strong reconciliation skills with the ability to analyze variances and pay attention to detail
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent computer related skills, particularly with MS Word and Excel
  • Experience using Oracle Financial R12 is preferred
  • Quick learner as experience gained on the job related to departmental/corporate practices and procedures will be critical for success

This position is open to both Vancouver Airport Authority employees and external candidates. Previous job performance will be taken into consideration for all internal candidates that apply for this position.

Vancouver International Airport is a Living Wage employer. This means all Vancouver Airport Authority workers earn at least a living wage. Living Wage for Families B.C. has determined the hourly rate of pay at which a household can meet its basic expenses. The 2022 living wage rate in Metro Vancouver is $20.52.
