Job Title: Field Technician

Job Description

Person will be working as a quality assurance technician for the Vancouver Landfill in Delta. Job duties will include:

• Monitoring the drilling process
• Using a steel auger to pull waste out
• Using an infrared thermometer
• Reporting what the waste looks like
• Keeping detailed and easy-to-read notes
• Informing the GC if they are doing things incorrectly
• Representing the city of Vancouver’s interests
• Walking around the landfill to different drill sites.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Delta, British Columbia.

Work Environment

Outside work environment. Steel Toed Work Boots required. All other safety equipment will be provided by SCS. Person will be working around heavy equipment. There is asbestos at the Vancouver landfill so person is required to take asbestos awareness training. Person will be wearing STWB, Tveck overalls, potentially fire-resistant overalls, and a half-face respirator. On warm days in June, this is likely going to be quite warm. Person should be prepared to work in the heat.
