ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Based at the Macassa Mine Site, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Business Partner to join our Human Resources team.

The Macassa Mine is a high-grade gold producer, with grade improving at depth, and a key valuation driver for Agnico Eagle. Located in the Town of Kirkland Lake, Ontario, the Macassa Mine remains one of the highest gold grade mines in the world. Macassa commenced operations in 2002, and with the discovery of the South Mine Complex has been able to increase its level of production significantly over the past five years. The mine is located in an area with well-developed infrastructure, including a provincial highway, a railway system and a private airport. High-grade ore is processed at the Macassa Mill, which currently has available capacity and is located in close proximity to the mine.

The Human Resources Business Partner will be accountable for providing high quality human resources consulting services to operating and support departments in an effort to strengthen partnerships, foster organizational effectiveness and meet Company objectives.


RESPONSIBILITIES


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Establish and maintain collaborative, credible and trusting relationships and partnerships with individuals across the organization to demonstrate the value of HR as a consistent, knowledgeable and trusted resource;
  • Handle escalated performance and productivity issues of a complex or sensitive nature and work with internal partners and leaders to remove obstacles and drive resolution;
  • Provide HR direction and advice to operating and support departments on the application of policies, procedures and relevant employment legislation;
  • Assist in process improvement and streamlining HR practices to expedite results;
  • Provide support in disability management, recruitment, employee relations and performance management, compensation and benefits as required;
  • Participate in annual HR cycles and special projects.


QUALIFICATIONS


Our ideal candidate has:

  • Degree or Diploma in HR Management, Business Administration or related discipline;
  • Certified Human Resources Professional or Leader designation is an asset;
  • Five years of related experience in a senior HR capacity in an industrial or mining environment, with experience in disability management, employee relations and recruitment;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP (SAP) software;
  • Proven commitment to health, safety and the environment;
  • Customer service focus;
  • High level of integrity and accountability;
  • Demonstrated ability to influence business leaders in multiple areas of human resources;
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation and listening skills;
  • Experience in a cross-cultural working environment.
