Main Responsibilities
Reporting to the Supervisor – Tendering, the Electrical Engineer is responsible for coordinating the engineering activities related to the electrical field and the commissioning of the automatic systems that equip the ventilation units.
Main responsibilities
- Develop plans and other documentation required for the electrical assembly of ventilation units
- Maintain industry manufacturing standards in accordance with the required electrical standards
- Coordinate the electrical implementation with engineering, in conjunction with other multidisciplinary teams
- Effectively coordinate electrical activities with the foremen of the assembly departments (panels, floor) and test department
- Provide technical assistance to the production, engineering, sales, commissioning and R&D departments
- Keep up to date with electrical standards, including HVAC
- Keep new products up to date with suppliers
- Collaborate, as needed, with the R&D team and Ecoref for the development of new technologies, new concepts and control tools
- Perform programming as required
- Manage the associated documentation
Education and experience
- University degree in electrical engineering, electromechanical engineering or any other training deemed equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar position
- Specialization in low voltage (asset)
- Experience or specialization in refrigeration (asset)
Specific knowledge
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Excellent knowledge of Autocad drawing software
- Knowledge of specialized software such as Promis-E, E-Plan (asset)
- Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, UL1995, CSA 236, ETL, etc. (asset)
- Knowledge of microcontrollers (asset)
- Knowledge of servomotors, DDC, thermostats, variable frequency drives, AC/DC, AC3DC motors, EC motors, compressors, etc. (asset)
- Knowledge of electrical appliances, air conditioning, refrigeration, gas burners, etc., (asset)
- Knowledge of instrumentation (pressure, temperature, humidity, CO2, NO2 sensors) (asset)
- Knowledge of applicable HVAC standards
- Knowledge of general low voltage electricity, electrical design
Skills and abilities
- Excellent oral and written French language skills
- Knowledge of English (reading), an asset
- Significant problem solving skills (trouble shooting)
- Ability to coach and pass on knowledge
- Significant ability to read blueprints
