Main Responsibilities

Reporting to the Supervisor – Tendering, the Electrical Engineer is responsible for coordinating the engineering activities related to the electrical field and the commissioning of the automatic systems that equip the ventilation units.

Main responsibilities

  • Develop plans and other documentation required for the electrical assembly of ventilation units
  • Maintain industry manufacturing standards in accordance with the required electrical standards
  • Coordinate the electrical implementation with engineering, in conjunction with other multidisciplinary teams
  • Effectively coordinate electrical activities with the foremen of the assembly departments (panels, floor) and test department
  • Provide technical assistance to the production, engineering, sales, commissioning and R&D departments
  • Keep up to date with electrical standards, including HVAC
  • Keep new products up to date with suppliers
  • Collaborate, as needed, with the R&D team and Ecoref for the development of new technologies, new concepts and control tools
  • Perform programming as required
  • Manage the associated documentation

Education and experience

  • University degree in electrical engineering, electromechanical engineering or any other training deemed equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar position
  • Specialization in low voltage (asset)
  • Experience or specialization in refrigeration (asset)

Specific knowledge

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent knowledge of Autocad drawing software
  • Knowledge of specialized software such as Promis-E, E-Plan (asset)
  • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, UL1995, CSA 236, ETL, etc. (asset)
  • Knowledge of microcontrollers (asset)
  • Knowledge of servomotors, DDC, thermostats, variable frequency drives, AC/DC, AC3DC motors, EC motors, compressors, etc. (asset)
  • Knowledge of electrical appliances, air conditioning, refrigeration, gas burners, etc., (asset)
  • Knowledge of instrumentation (pressure, temperature, humidity, CO2, NO2 sensors) (asset)
  • Knowledge of applicable HVAC standards
  • Knowledge of general low voltage electricity, electrical design

Skills and abilities

  • Excellent oral and written French language skills
  • Knowledge of English (reading), an asset
  • Significant problem solving skills (trouble shooting)
  • Ability to coach and pass on knowledge
  • Significant ability to read blueprints
  • Spatial perception – 3D visualization
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Ability to communicate clearly
