MATERIAL HANDLER

Job Summary

The Material Handler will primarily be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, and material handling in yard and plant. This position will keep equipment and work area clean and orderly. This position is best suited to energetic individuals, able to work in fast paced environment with high productivity.

Job Duties

• Loading and unloading of incoming and outgoing materials and products.
• Move materials to and from loading areas, delivery trucks, storage, and manufacturing areas.
• Safe handling of materials with telehandler and forklift
• Identify and label materials and record their locations to maintain accurate inventory
• Inventory, stock control, random cycle counting
• Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly
• Assist other workers when needed
• Ensure proper care of machinery and supplies
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in an effective and courteous manner with coworkers and supervisors
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with warehouse equipment: telehandler, forklift, combi
• 1-5 years’ experience working in a warehouse setting or in logistics preferred
• Ability to read, write and to follow instructions working independently, with high accuracy and with little guidance or direct supervision
• Experience and demonstrated ability to safely operate various material handling tools and equipment (telehandlers, forklift etc..)
• Maintain necessary education/licenses/certifications to safely operate warehouse equipment.
• Energetic individuals, able to work in fast paced environment with high productivity
• Willingness to work extended hours of work as necessary to ensure deadlines and priorities are met, including overtime and weekends.

Work Conditions

• Standing for up to 10 hours per day and other physically demanding conditions
• Frequent movement lifting (up to 60lbs), carrying, bending, turning and pulling)
• The correct use of Personal Protective Equipment as per company standards (safety glasses, gloves and steel-toed CSA certified boots)
• Exposure to various weather conditions (cold/hot/wind/rain/snow/ice)

Hours of Work

• Monday thru Thursday 6:00am – 4:30pm. Fridays off.
• Willingness to work extended hours of work as necessary to ensure deadlines and priorities are met, including overtime and weekends.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
