Position Description:
Reporting to the Human Resources Leader, the Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for delivering all facets of recruiting success throughout the organization and assists in promoting a strong employment brand and ensuring a positive candidate experience by creating a high touch environment. This position will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing plans, employing traditional sourcing strategies and resources as well as developing new, creative recruiting ideas. Builds and maintains partnerships to ensure staffing needs are met with regard to managing all sourcing, selection and hiring of talent. The Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the attraction and hiring of the best possible talent to meet business needs.
Position Responsibilities:
- Performs end to end recruitment tasks, including creation and revision of job descriptions and job postings, conducts applicant screening, interviewing, background checks, and offer management.
- Provides advice and guidance regarding the attraction, selection and on-boarding of new employees, ensuring a diverse range of candidates are considered for all positions.
- Designs and implements innovative sourcing strategies to attract and retain outstanding talent.
- Facilitates quality candidate management, and a positive experience throughout the recruitment process.
- Acts as the point of contact for the candidate for updates, feedback and queries during the recruitment
process.
- Creates and nurtures talent pipelines through online communities, networking events, social media, and
employee referrals in order to reduce time-to-fill and create brand awareness.
- Maintains recruitment management systems to ensure data integrity and all governance requirements are met.
- Maintains a current understanding of the external market for talent including current local and provincial.
- Evaluate and monitor hiring trends and talent implications resulting from shifts within the industry and the economy
- Gathers and analyzes data and metrics to determine success of sourcing strategies, candidate experience, and creating plans for improvement
- Ensure current knowledge of funding offered for related grants/government programs (i.e. new hires incentives, summer student funding initiatives, etc.) and submit applications when applicable.
- Assist in coordinating training activities and track and report KPIs as assigned.
- Ensure compliance to all provincial applicable legislation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Commerce, Human Resources Management or related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- 2 years of experience in talent acquisition or similar role.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize workload and work independently.
- Professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to travel for recruitment events and initiatives as needed.
- Human Resources Designation would be considered an asset.
