We are looking for a Human Resources Manager to join our Team in Aurora, Ontario.
Position Summary:
Responsible for Human Resources activities including employee relations, engagement, performance management, staffing, policy enforcement, recruitment, orientation and onboarding, data entry, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for full-cycle recruitment, including creating and revising job descriptions, posting open positions internally and externally, conducting resume screening and telephone screening, coordinating interviews, managing the preemployment screening process (background check, etc.), and preparing and presenting employment offers.
- Proactively engage candidates through direct outreach and seek candidate referrals both internally and externally.
- Work closely with temporary agencies reviewing candidates, coordinating interviews, presenting offers, and coordinating start date after preemployment screenings are completed.
- Work closely with hiring managers to ensure alignment on key role priorities and objectives, making hiring recommendations as required.
- Conduct and coordinate all human resources onboarding activities and tasks.
- Administer and update all HR related databases and systems, including but not limited to HRIS system
- Responsible for maintaining Recruiting Tracker for all open and closed positions.
- Assists with employee relations, provides advice and counsel on personnel issues.
- Assist in the implementation of human resource policies.
- Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics; such as time to hire, turnover, etc…
- Creation and maintenance of personnel and medical files
- Data entry into ADP Workforce Now
- Assist with the administration of LOA’s
- Administer compensation (step increase) program – providing advice and explanations to employees.
- Manages the performance review process and guides supervisory/management personnel through the process.
- Maintain and manage timecards within the ADP Workforce Now, including entering time off and missed punches, reviewing accuracy of timecards, modifying time off, and adjusting schedules.
- Stay current on recent federal, provincial and case law changes and monitors labor law updates and newsletters for changes that affect HR.
- Compliance activities
- Works as internal partner with Payroll.
- Benefits administration activities, reconciliation, auditing and participates in the renewal process.
- Other duties as assigned.
Food Defense Functions:
- Must comply with all general Company-wide standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and any job or department specific SOP’s.
- SOP’s may cover the areas of (but are not limited to).
§ Employee Health and Safety.
§ SQF (Safe Quality Food packager) and GMP (good manufacturing procedures) focused on eliminating contaminates in all packaging manufactured.
§ SGP (Sustainable Green Printer) environmental regulatory procedures and SOP’s.
Education/Experience:
- Associates degree or higher preferred
- CHRP certification preferred
- High School graduation or equivalent required
- 4 to 7 years human resources generalist experience required
- 1 to 3 years minimum experience in a manufacturing environment or industrial environment
- 1 to 3 years minimum experience recruiting
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and demonstrates attention to detaiL
- Task oriented
- Aptitude in problem solving
- Desire to work as a team with a result driven approach
- Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now
- Proficient computer skills, with knowledge in using Microsoft computer software, HRIS software, Applicant Tracking systems, and any other associated software programs
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Office environment – ability to work from home occasionally
- Should be able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs. (intermittently)
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time (continuous)
- Position requires ability to work on the production floor for extended periods of time (intermittently)
- Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment when on production floor
