Job Overview:

This is a trusted position which incorporates all aspects of accounting and finance as well as coordinating internal software systems. The bookkeeper/controller acts as the hub of the office and will communicate with management, supervisors, marketing, admin and sales staff. Profitability analysis, forecasting and stewardship of company finances are critical elements of this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Cash Flow
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances with department managers and directors
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Manage and comply with local, provincial, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Manage insurance policies
  • Additional controller duties as necessary

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
  • Advanced degree in Accounting preferred
  • Must have a proficiency in the Microsoft and Google Suite of software
  • Experience in using Dynamics GP/Great Plains, including payroll preferred
  • Experience with Bistrack (Epicor) LMB software preferred
  • CPA/CA designation preferred
  • Strong understanding of financial and managerial accounting
  • Extremely organized with strong attention to detail
  • Experience in construction and landscaping industry preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Ethical

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)

  • Accounting: 5 years (preferred)
