Foran Mining Corporation (FOM-TSX.V), a modern mining company that wants to change what mining

means to people, is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to join their expanding McIlvenna Bay project team.

This is a full-time remote position that will transition to site based at the McIlvenna Bay project site.

The McIlvenna Bay Cu-Zn-Au-Ag deposit is one of the largest undeveloped VHMS deposits in Canada.

Foran recently completed (2022) a feasibility study for the deposit and is undertaking advanced

exploration and detailed Engineering activities this year. The McIlvenna Bay deposit’s core commodities

are critical for the global transition to green energy and Foran aims to extract these critical minerals in a

sustainable manner by empowering local communities, contributing to circular economies and protecting

the environment for future generations.

Logistics Coordinator – Posting 2023-07

Foran Mining has recently completed a positive feasibility study for the McIlvenna Bay project and have

started construction activities to build underground mining and milling facilities as well as the supporting

infrastructure. A Logistics Coordinator will be a part of the Supply Chain Team and will be responsible

for providing procurement support to the team, the coordination of all logistics for the project and the

tracking/reporting of shipments in transit.

Job Responsibilities:

  • responsible for maintaining record of all outstanding purchase orders with external vendors

including (but not limited to) communication with port and logistics authorities

  • act as main contact and oversee shipments arriving to site and communicate with the Team’s

Material Management representative on project site

  • Assist with monitoring and reviewing purchasing budgets, cost/budget analysis and highlight

cost changes to applicable management

  • Develop and implement new purchasing strategies to deliver ongoing cost reductions and

process simplification

  • communicate and negotiate with manufacturers, suppliers and vendors
  • track final product shipments, costs, and timelines according to requirements
  • arrangements for transportation and forwarding services for all orders to ensure material is

delivered as per schedule

  • manage and coordinate all overseas shipments
  • expedite all critical orders with local sub-contract vendors
  • Proactively follow up with project management to confirm purchasing requirements ensuring

timely purchase of goods to meet site demands

  • Integrate with Logistics Service provider
  • Participate in Forecast meetings to anticipate upcoming demand in supplies and/or services and

ensure best purchasing options

  • Provide weekly reports on ETA’s and shipments to project teams weekly
  • Support with procurement project

Job Qualifications and Skills:

  • Post-secondary diploma in Supply Chain Management and/or equivalent education in Materials

Management, Procurement or Business

  • 2+ years experience as a logistics coordinator in the mining industry or relevant experience in a

related field may be considered

  • Familiar with SAP by Design
  • Ability to read, write and speak Mandarin considered an asset
  • Experience with global shipments and understanding of global logistics (especially in China)

considered an asset

  • Familiar with standard procurement concepts, best practices and techniques
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, organizational and time management skills, critical

thinking and negotiating/bargaining skills

  • Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and the ability to recognize

discrepancies

  • ability to work with minimal supervision in a high-volume environment
  • Knowledge of safety standards, regulations, laws and policies regarding logistics
