Fowler Construction Company Limited Hiring for Summer Student Job at Bracebridge

Fowler is seeking students who are interested in working for the summer season to perform tasks to assist with the operations of the company. Job sites will vary and could include highway maintenance crews, road construction sites, quarries and/or lab works.

Key Duties:

• Perform general labour tasks such as raking, shoveling, assisting with guide rail repairs, beaver dam removals, pothole repairs, and site clean-up.
• Assist with inspections and audits (bridge, culvert, general QC).
• Traffic Control around work zones when required. Company training is mandatory prior to assisting with traffic control.
• May be required to utilize hand tools, both static and mechanical.
• May be required to utilize motor vehicles such as cars and trucks (must have valid license).
• May be required to utilize construction equipment in limited capacity.
• Clean and maintain any vehicles, equipment, or tools you may use; clean and maintain job site as directed.
• Attend safety tailgate meetings.

Qualifications:

• Must have a strong work ethic and be willing to work approximately 50 hours per week.
• Must be able to stand, lift 50 lbs., carry, bend, reach.
• Willing to work in all conditions outside; hours of operation will vary based on job specifics.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Valid driver’s license is a definite asset.

Work Conditions:

• Travel to various sites may be required.
• Indoor and outdoor environment in various weather conditions.
• Overtime, evening, and weekend work may be required to meet the demands of the position.
