GTA General Contractors
We are a well-established construction and distribution group seeking a Financial Controller to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing multi-division financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting. You will work closely with our senior management team to ensure the financial health and success of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the financial operations of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Work with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies that support the growth and success of the business.
- Manage the company’s financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and best practices.
- Analyze financial data and provide reports to senior management, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with banks, auditors, and other financial institutions and actively seek new grants and fundings where required
- Manage the company’s cash flow, ensuring that adequate funds are available to meet the business’s needs.
- Monitor and manage the company’s financial risks, including credit, currency, and interest rate risks.
- Manage government remittance obligations.
- Day to day supervision of accounting staff completing AR, AP and bank reconciliation and GL postings.
- Responsible for all aspects of the General Ledger, review all monthly journal entries and ensure all necessary documentation is to support journal entries and general ledger balances.
- Streamline accounting and financial operations.
- Report relevant issues, incidents and achievements to the CEO to ensure awareness of progress to Plan, and identify areas/issues requiring resolution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Quickbooks
