We are a well-established construction and distribution group seeking a Financial Controller to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing multi-division financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting. You will work closely with our senior management team to ensure the financial health and success of the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the financial operations of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting.
  • Work with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies that support the growth and success of the business.
  • Manage the company’s financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and best practices.
  • Analyze financial data and provide reports to senior management, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with banks, auditors, and other financial institutions and actively seek new grants and fundings where required
  • Manage the company’s cash flow, ensuring that adequate funds are available to meet the business’s needs.
  • Monitor and manage the company’s financial risks, including credit, currency, and interest rate risks.
  • Manage government remittance obligations.
  • Day to day supervision of accounting staff completing AR, AP and bank reconciliation and GL postings.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the General Ledger, review all monthly journal entries and ensure all necessary documentation is to support journal entries and general ledger balances.
  • Streamline accounting and financial operations.
  • Report relevant issues, incidents and achievements to the CEO to ensure awareness of progress to Plan, and identify areas/issues requiring resolution.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Quickbooks
