Company Description
We are a small public accounting firm located in Chilliwack. We are seeking an experienced bookkeeper to join our team. This flexible fulltime position may have the ability to work remotely for the most part once trained, but does require at least two days in the office per week.
We are a close-knit group who work well together as a team. Our office is casual dress and we occasionally have an office pup who visits.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, pay strong attention to detail, and have the ability to work independently. We are looking for someone who has previous bookkeeping experience and who enjoys the challenge of working on a variety of projects with clients in a number of different fields. Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online and Sage is considered and asset and preference will be given to candidates with previous experience working in a public practice CPA firm or other bookkeeping firm. Due to the largely paperless nature and possible remote work aspects of the position, the successful candidate must be very familiar and comfortable with technology.
Salary is from $23.00-$27.00 per hour + and is commensurate with experience plus health benefits.

Responsibilities
- Provides monthly bookkeeping functions to clients including bank reconciliations, payroll, GST / PST returns, WCB, and accounts payable entries
· Reconciles general ledger and subsidiary accounts/ledgers, prepare journal entries and corrects posting errors accordingly
· Prepares T4 and T5 slips for filing
· Prepares trial balance with backup
- Communicates directly with clients about their books and corresponds with other individuals involved in the bookkeeping process as required
· Maintains and balances related party accounts by verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies
- Learns about new technology in the industry and how software apps can help make the bookkeeping process more efficient
- Proactively suggests ways we can improve our client record keeping
· Provides additional administrative duties as required during periods of heavy workloads or absences
- Assists with personal tax returns and general tax season duties as required

COVID-19 considerations:
