As Operations Manager, Northern Projects you will provide leadership and direction to support Horizon’s Northern workforce projects.
This position is safety-sensitive and requires drug, alcohol, and fit-to-work testing as a condition of employment.
Your work will include:
- Overseeing the successful operations of multiple workforce accommodations throughout Nunavut, Northwest Territories, and the Yukon.
- Ensure maximum client and guest satisfaction by providing overall high-quality hospitality service through weekly client follow-up meetings and onsite visits.
- Provide support to the site teams with regards to logistics, resources, staffing, quality assurance, and training.
- Supporting small projects, perform recruiting, scheduling, travel /flight logistics, and payroll.
- Ensure Horizon North’s standards are upheld and maintained daily regarding food quality, consistency, cleanliness, and Health and Safety programs
- Support all hiring initiatives and performance management of employees in coordination with Human Resources and the Lodge Manager
- Provide analysis and insight for revenue forecasts and budgets
- Create leadership staff schedules in accordance to client forecasts and revenue
- Ensure profitability through budgetary adherence
- Align strategies with KPI requirements
- Delegate and perform tasks as required to support the daily operation of the lodge

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Someone who thrives on providing excellent customer service
- Five years or more experience managing remote workforce accommodation facilities
- Post-secondary education in business administration, hospitality, or accounting as an asset
- Contract management skills
- Driver license required
- A clear criminal record check is required for this role
This role requires approximately 60% of time spent traveling to Northern project sites. During site visits, you will meet with your team, provide coaching, meet with clients, and conduct quality assurance audits. For the rest of your time, you may work remotely or out of one of our regional offices.
