World Duty Free YVR is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Luxury Fashion Supervisor to join our team. The Luxury Fashion Supervisor will be responsible for managing the store and its shift team, ensuring the highest level of customer service possible, and driving sales by inspiring, leading, and developing a team of sales associates. The ideal candidate is energetic, highly organized, and possesses excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

This Shift Supervisor Job Is For You, If You Enjoy:
Responsible for managing the store and its shift team and for ensuring that the store provides the highest level of Customer Service possible. The Shift Supervisor inspires, leads, and develops a team of Sales Associates to deliver on the company objective of excellent proactive service to ensure an exceptional customer experience. Highly energetic, the Shift Supervisor coaches and updates their sales team regularly on opportunities for continuous improvement of their skills and knowledge to drive sales.
Key Accountabilities:
Key responsibilities include selling & customer experience, team & service management, and product & presentation management.
Customers
- Promote quality customer service among staff by acting as a positive role model.
- Be personally available to all customers to communicate and identify their needs and address their questions or concerns.
- Maintain feedback loop to the other departments with customer comment cards and employee opinion.
People
- Maintain employee attitude and morale by recognizing outstanding performance and service, motivating, and developing staff, communicating their incentive results on a daily basis.
- Together with the Terminal/Store Manager, evaluate all store employees.
- Verify staff positioning during the shift according to the shop activity, and priority, coordinate holidays, and absences from the staff member.
Sales & Operations
- Responsible for opening and closing the store and securing all assets.
- Ensure that the store is in compliance with all Airport, Provincial and Federal employment Laws/regulations.
- Communicate necessary information at the beginning of shift, including targeted Sales, promotions and new products, company policies and procedures.
- Organize and coordinate shift plans.
- Track the daily sales, Analyze if any issue in the shop might be affecting the weekly sales, and communicate it to the Terminal/Store Manager.
- Improve the Customer experience through excellent operation standards (cleaning, stocking, front facing etc.). Monitor and improve store standards.
- Guarantee the shop standards are in place, ensuring correct pricing and checking expiry dates.
- Supervise inventory counting at the end of shift, conduct staff bag checks.
- Assists in preparation for Full inventory count, ensuring that the staff and areas to be counted are prepared and ready for the count.
- Oversees specific category, including product RTV, price changes, merchandising standards, TSRP and promotional changeovers.
- Implements marketing strategy, ensuring product supply and coordinates team.
- Assume Store Manager’s responsibility in his/her absence.
- Ensures all health & safety protocols are adhered to at all times
Finance
- Responsible for the correct cash handling from the cashiers and for training the needed processes and procedures.
- Reconciliation of cash, card and bank deposits.
- Verify floats, routine till audits and monitor cashiers at all times.
- Investigate any cash discrepancies together with the cashier to identify and solve problems.
Required Qualifications:
- 3(+) years of retail experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory/leader role within the retail/service industry.
- Proficient with handling a POS register machine and cash & knowledge of Microsoft Office-based applications.
- Consults and helps plan daily activities with General Manager/ Operations Manager and other Supervisors; manages the activities of staff.
- Understanding of basic retail concepts, Strong working knowledge of retail operations, including cash and inventory control, markdown compliance, merchandise handling and shrink management.
- Ability to deal with stressful situations in a diplomatic & professional manner demonstrated ability to build effective teams & motivate employees
- Organizational skills, self-starter & highly motivated. High energy level & positive approach to job & group responsibilities. Strong leadership skills and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays. Able to work additional hours when necessary. Have open and flexible availability to work any shift on weekdays, weekends and holidays. Work a Full-Time schedule. Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle due to operating hours. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Good time-management skills and multi-tasking abilities.
- Successfully clear a criminal background check RAIC requirements
