Major Tom
Hi, I’m Ariana (https://www.linkedin.com/in/arianakolaitis/) — or ‘Ari’ if you’re short on time — and I manage all-things recruitment and HR at Major Tom. I landed at Major Tom in 2019 after leaving Australia — you can find me in the Toronto office (or mostly Zoom these days), just look for the Pikachu figurine on my desk. As an experienced HR Generalist, I take care of all employee-related issues, activities, and actions, supporting our teams across Canada and the US. Partnering with the senior leadership team, I assist agency-wide growth and development through strategic business practices.
I’ve been working with a wonderful Coordinator for the past year and they are now moving into a new role at Major Tom so I’m looking for someone new to join the team. This is a generalist role where you will have an opportunity to support in a number of areas including recruiting, employee relations, training and development and agency operations.
Who We Are:
Major Tom is the next iteration of digital marketing — a full-service agency that’s been purpose-built to help organizations thrive in an increasingly complex landscape. With teams across Canada and the US, you can find us in person in Vancouver and Toronto, or on Zoom in other regions.
Our roster of international clients includes COBS Bread, Little Potato Company, Giants of Africa and NYU.
We’re a group of people who create work we’re proud of for folks we believe in. Our team is made up of industry specialists covering the spectrum of strategy, marketing, development, and creative.
We all share a belief that passion and accountability are critical to delivering exceptional work. Our biggest heroes bring humility, an open mind, and a positive attitude to our team every single day. An informal — yet professional — group, we truly care about one another and you can bet that we’ll care about you, too. We are a small and mighty HR team at Major Tom looking after all things recruiting, performance, and training and development to name a few.
I am looking for someone who resonates with the Major Tom values (you can find out more about these on our website), who truly wants to make a difference, learn and have fun. I’m not looking for someone who has experience in all these areas, however, passion, enthusiasm and genuine interest is important.

At Major Tom, we have five core values which are ingrained in our culture. We’re looking for someone who:
- Has a curious mind: someone who is resourceful and likes to ask questions, likes to problem solve and get to the root cause of things. Do you like learning new platforms, workflows and getting into the guts of a platform to see how we can use it better?
Has an adaptable attitude: someone who shows vulnerability and accountability, who leans into change and is proactive. We’re not looking for perfection! We all make mistakes and it’s all about how we learn, are responsible and overcome them. Change is a constant in any business!
Is a plus person: rises to a challenge, meets negativity with positivity. An ability to think outside the box and willing to try new things or ideas.
Owns their impact: when faced with adversity, persevere with passion. A true problem solver who likes to get to the root cause of something.
