Job Summary:

Based in Woodbridge, Ontario, the General Manager will be working under the Vice President of Storage Operations and overseeing all storage operations across Eastern Canada. This includes all current and future facilities located in Arnprior, Belleville, Carleton Place, Grimsby, Pembroke, Windsor and Ottawa. The role will be to oversee the operations, logistics, facilities, customer service and performance management of the self storage and mobile container operations teams.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills who can quickly build rapport, trust, and strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Being goal oriented, the General Manager will work alongside each facility to develop, implement, and execute on strategic marketing and sales initiatives to promote and grow the business. The ideal candidate will take the initiative in reviewing, negotiating, and implementing labour and operating efficiencies and reducing expenses while adhering to company policies and procedures. They will have a positive and collaboratively approach to work with other management teams to further the financial, cultural, marketing, and people goals set out by the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing daily business operations for self storage and mobile container activities in Eastern Canada.
  • Continue to improve, create, implement, and manage standard operating procedures and policies.
  • Responsible for the P&L of each location.
  • Review, recommend and implement pricing and incentive plans to achieve financial goals.
  • Conducts facility audits to ensure adherence to operational and safety standards.
  • Performance management, recruitment, and retention of employees.
  • Develop team, implement growth strategies and mentor towards KPI goals.
  • Responsible for the integration of acquired self-storage facilities & mobile container fleets into the company portfolio.
  • Ensure successful opening of new facilities within the market through coordination of marketing and development efforts.
  • Look for opportunities to grow new or existing lines of business.
  • Travels to designated facilities to attend meetings and training sessions.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in multi-unit retail sales/service operations leadership experience.
  • 5+ years of Managing teams.
  • Prior P&L, budgeting, and forecasting responsibility.
  • Proven ability to consistently meet and exceed performance standards.
  • Strong Influencer and motivator.
  • Ability to lead and promote safe work environments.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and motivational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong time management and prioritizing skills.
  • Work well under pressure, meeting deadlines consistently.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Previous Self-Storage or Mobile Container Experience considered an asset.

Travel is required up to 20%

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
