This position provides the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays each week, with the requirement to report to the primary NOVA Chemicals work location on Tuesdays through Thursdays. Employees can opt out of the hybrid schedule and will be expected to work Monday-Friday from the primary work location.

We are currently seeking a Supply Chain Planner – Raw Materials who will be a member of the Integrated Planning Team, with a strong working relationship with the Purchasing team. In this role, you will be accountable for the day-to-day monitoring of raw materials inventory levels and expediting of incoming raw materials. The successful candidate is able and willing to progress over time through the full spectrum of PE S&OP positions (inventory, supply, and demand planning).
You Will Use Your Expertise To:
Apply Responsible Care® procedures and standard protocols for master supporting the Purchasing and Supply process for the Raw Material Planning role.
Convert production plans into actions, determining material requirements to ensure continuous flow of raw materials & packaging for MW Polyethylene manufacturing.
Participate in S&OP and planning / scheduling meetings.
Perform daily MRP activities and places orders to purchase raw materials in a timely manner to ensure availability when required by production while executing against approved inventory strategies.
Analyze inventories to assist in determining the appropriate balance between manufacturing needs and optimized inventory levels.
Establish and execute lot sizing techniques, safety stock levels, inventory policies and order review methodologies to support the production plan.
Manage and reconcile inventory/consignment balances on site and at outside tolling operations. Receive inventory counts and perform month end reconciliation. Work with Operations to remedy significant variances.
Integrate with Technology, Manufacturing and Supply Planner(s) for new trials and product development.
Identify and prioritize various problems as they arise; e.g. late/missing shipments, blocked invoices, volume & pricing discrepancies and determine and execute corrective actions.
Maintain a database to measure and monitor results, support inventory integrity and propose improvements to systems and procedures.
Monitor supplier performance and contribute to continuous improvement processes. Plays a key role in managing supplier relationships.
Coordinate incoming modes of transportation.
Maintain ISO raw materials quality procedures and compliance. Participation in ISO audits.
Review and authorize Technical Purchasing Specifications.
Lead the issuing and investigation of non-conformances and communicate and act on them per the purchasing and supply process and procedures.
Monitor and manage obsolete, excess, scrap and aged inventory.
Work closely with Raw Material Buyers, Supply Chain, Logistics and Area Work Teams to realize improvements, cost reductions, plant upset impacts and resolve any supply issues.
Provide Regional Back-up to other Raw Material Planner roles.
What We Are Looking For:
The successful candidate will be a University graduate with 3 – 5 years related experience and continued professional development or 7 – 9 years combination of post-secondary education and related experience and continued professional development. Enrollmrent in a professional supply chain accredited course (eg. CITT, APICS) is an asset.
In addition, the successful candidate will have:
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
An ability to resolve conflicts, grasp multiple issues quickly and resolve the issues from a total business perspective.
The ability to work in a high energy, sometimes demanding work environment.
Capability of providing or collaborating with others to develop alternate solutions to issues.
Knowledge and a passion for supply chain/logistics concepts, such as scheduling, inventory management, planning, or material requirement planning is a must.
Demonstrated proficiency in SAP, analytic and decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently.

Relocation will NOT be considered for this position
Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience
This role requires up to 0-10% travel
The successful candidate is required to provide proof of a valid driver’s license
