Parr Metal Fabricators is a custom fabrication facility that was established in 1976. We specialize in the custom fabrication of industrial tanks, pressure vessels, smoke stacks, pipe spools, heavy ducting and all types miscellaneous forming and rolling.
Parr Metal Fabricators is currently accepting applications for a Junior Estimator/Project Manager. If you are an energetic self-starter and can follow, set up and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget according to all technical, quality and safety requirements this role is for you!
The Junior Estimator/ Project Manager will be involved in various facets of part/product manufacturing. They may assist with initial design review/approval during quoting and pre-manufacturing. As well as providing support to production and quality as required.
Duties of this position:
- Prepare material take-offs for new fabrication projects and repairs of ferrous and non- ferrous materials, present well written quotations to the customer.
- Must have the ability to interpret and understand assembly and shop drawings. A good mechanical aptitude is essential part for this position.
- Knowledgeable in all aspects of fabrication and welding are vital to your success as a Junior Project Manager.
- The ability to prepare accurate estimates would be an asset, but we are willing to teach and mentor the right individual.
- You will be involved in many types of projects from large to small simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Review drawings and compile relevant documents to create packages for production
- Design during quoting and pre-manufacturing
- Work with customer and shop staff for product requirements (material, hardware, special processes)
- A portion of the job requirement is purchasing materials and services for projects directly, working with subcontractors and outside professional engineers.
- Create drawings from sketches, part samples, inspection requirements
- Communicating and working within a cross functional team
- Work within projects budgetary requirements and provide regular updates from start to finish on projects
This is a full time position for Days – Monday to Thursday 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs, and CAD/CAM systems and inventor software
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Strong oral, written, and electronic communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage priorities to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of materials and processes in manufacturing
- Experienced in basic business concepts such as budgeting, negotiation, risk assessment, scheduling along with good verbal and written communication skills
- Experienced in CWB, ASME, API, COR and SMACNA construction, design, safety, welding codes and testing would be an asset.
- Graduate from a related RRCC engineering technology program and or accredited skilled trade certificate(s) or combination of fabrication shop experience.
- Minimum 1- 5 years
Knowledge of estimating methodologies and experience is considered an asset. We are willing to invest in product training and education for the right candidate. We are a diversified machine shop that offers a variety of challenges to its employees. Our shop is fast paced and very demanding.
