Prophix Software, Inc Hiring for Cloud Technical Specialist Job at Mississauga

As a Cloud Technical Specialist, you will focus on the execution of defined processes and procedures to ensure the provisioning of customer cloud instances are seamless and viable to meet defined SLAs. As a member of the Prophix Technical Support team, you will work in tandem with Customer Success, Product & Technology, DevOps, and Information Security groups to ensure regular ongoing management of Prophix Cloud Services.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for should have a proficient understanding of cloud, networking, and Microsoft Windows infrastructure running on Amazon AWS. He/she should possess strong technical skills along with excellent organization skills to support our global customer base to respond to service incidents in a timely manner and to adhere to operational procedures and best practices.

What You Will Do at Prophix

• Ensuring the highest level of uptime and Quality of Service (QoS) for our cloud customers through operational excellence
• Adhering to proper change management processes and procedures
• Monitoring and maintaining the global production cloud, sandbox, demonstration, and OAT environments including:
  o Provisioning and deprovisioning of cloud Instances
  o Performing database restorations in production/sandbox instances
  o Installing/configuring software services and custom agents
  o Conducting smoke test and verification updates for product releases when required
  o Participate in on-call rotation to support and maintain uptime of cloud infrastructure 24/7/365
  o Responding to system outages according to standard operating procedures
• Acting as escalation point to troubleshoot Level 2 and 3 technical incidents related to customer and cloud related issues during shift or as required
• Conducting root cause analysis (RCA) on technical issues to recommend corrective action for identified errors
• Creating and updating runbooks as required for internal/external support and improve operational processes and tasks
• Additional responsibilities as assigned

What You Will Bring to Prophix

Required Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems, or related experience
  4+ years IT infrastructure experience with at least 1 year in cloud operations/support role
• Willingness to obtain AWS certifications as required or recommended to align with our business needs (i.e. AWS Associate/Professional path)
• Knowledge of the following would be useful: Microsoft SQL Server, Data integration tools, Datadog, Confluence.
• Must have excellent working experience with problem solving, troubleshooting and analysis
• Hands-on experience with AWS including but not limited to (EC2, ELB, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, S3, VPC, RDS), remote troubleshooting, Microsoft PowerShell scripting
• Strong understanding of installation, configuration of operating systems, application software, cloud environments, networking, and virtualization technologies
• Experience with relational and/or non-relational database systems (SQL, MySQL, OLAP)
• Willingness to take on standby duties and shift work as required
