Position Posting for Mammography Technologist Permanent 1.0 FTE:
Work Site: Radiology Associates Inc. – primary work site to be Taber, Alberta
Status: Permanent 1.0 FTE
Start Date: March 27, 2023 or TBD
Salary & Benefits: Tech II HSAA commensurate to qualifications and years worked; extended health benefits after mandatory probation period; RSP matching after 1 year
Hours: 77.5 hours per pay period (schedule may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements)
Required: Applicants must demonstrate an ability and commitment to maintaining an acceptable level of absenteeism over an extended period of time as demonstrated by attendance awareness records.
Education/Certifications – Mammography Technologist:
o Current certification with the CAMRT and ACMDTT
o Current CPR
o Mammography I course is a MANDATORY, Mammography II course is an asset. Previous Automated Breast Ultrasound (ABUS) experience an asset but training will be provided at Lethbridge clinic site if necessary (successful candidate will be expected to perform both mammography and ABUS exams)
o 1-3 years clinical or hospital based experience is an asset
Mandate and Achievements – Mammography Technologist:
o Practice in accordance with the standards of professional practice as well as within a client and family-centered care model;
o Perform mammography and ABUS examinations in accordance with departmental policy and procedures, observing safe radiation protection practices;
o Comprehensive knowledge of the standards of practice and guidelines for Medical Imaging practitioners established by the CAMRT and/or other relevant national professional associations;
o Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based practice related to mammography and ABUS examinations;
o Broad knowledge of PACS/radiology information systems, i.e. digital imaging, image archiving, and retrieval;
o Your empathetic, patient, and understanding disposition will put our patients at ease and reassure them that you will be able to guide them through their exam;
o Passion for putting our patients and referring clinicians first, ensuring they consistently receive an excellent level of service;
o Anticipate the needs of our patients and referring physicians, act as an ambassador for Radiology Associates, and always want to go one step further to provide the best experience possible;
o Strong focus on maintaining patient confidentiality in regards to their illnesses, treatment, and diagnosis;
o Concerned about the physical appearance of our clinics and comfort of our patients, assisting with cleaning and maintaining exam rooms, washrooms, and/or offices, on a regular and recurring basis;
Expectations – Mammography Technologist:
o Ability to work primarily at our Taber clinic location and occasionally travel to all Radiology Associates Clinics (if and when needed); vehicle and valid driver’s license is required;
