We’re looking for a HR Specialist (1-Year Contract) . The work location for this position is Burnaby, British Columbia , and is eligible for a fully remote work arrangement .
The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Director, People Services, this role will be a critical member of the Canadian Human Resources business partner team, supporting the Corporate and Field business partners. The primary responsibilities include providing administrative, process and systems support to the team to maximize the service delivery to internal customer groups.
In this role you’ll:
- Prepare and support with the preparation, completion, distribution and filing of HR employee documentation.
- Support Director, People Services with the organization of data and implementation of a new HR Helpdesk.
- Ensure HR documentation flow and related records are maintained in accordance to internal control procedures.
- Respond to general employee inquiries and escalate issues as appropriate.
- Assist with the analysis of HR employee data and information to provide business insights that will inform recommendations and decision making.
- Partner with the Canadian payroll and benefits department to support the accurate processing of employee movement (transfers, promotions, terminations, etc.).
- Assist in coordinating and compiling immigration documentation for US inbound employee moves and transfers. Work with external immigration consultants to obtain valid immigration documents.
- Conduct and track all exit interviews for departing employees.
- Assist with the implementation and delivery of HR programs and initiatives. Provide support to assigned projects as required.
- Actively support the RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety: to send everyone home, every day, the way they came to work, by taking personal responsibility for your safety and safety of your team, co-workers and customers.
Here’s what you bring:
- 2-4 years of relevant experience
- Business or HR Degree (preferred)
- Experience working with Service Now, or in an environment with a centralized HR helpdesk (preferred)
- General knowledge of human resources theories, practices, legislation (provincial and federal) is required
- Ability to work with a high degree of confidentiality, integrity and a strong work ethic
- High degree of initiative and pro-activity
- Ability to anticipate and take charge to bring about a desired output
- Ability to multi-task with competing priorities, with little instruction and quick turn-around times
- Customer focused – a high level of customer service orientation is a must
- Proven interpersonal and relationship building skills
- High degree of professionalism
- Detail oriented, accurate, and extremely organized
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office programs – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.
