ABOUT THE POSITION

The Talent Acquisition Coordinator supports the Talent Acquisition team by assisting with recruitment and onboarding initiatives for the Back River Project. Under the direction of the Manager, Talent Acquisition, this role will be responsible for interacting directly with candidates and hiring managers by supporting the recruitment process and ensuring the proper set up and onboarding of new hires. Duties will include developing job descriptions, posting job advertisements, reviewing, qualifying and categorizing applicants, prescreening candidates, scheduling interviews, producing offer letters & contracts of employment and administering onboarding. This position will be broadly responsible for the coordination of effective and efficient talent acquisition processes. Based in the Edmonton office (primarily working remote) this is a contract one-year opportunity with possibility of extension.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Manager, Talent Acquisition, duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Arrange for advertising or posting of job vacancies, schedule interviews, conduct screening and rating of job applicants, conduct reference checks and administer employment related testing;
  • Assist in building and maintaining a network of contacts to ensure a pipeline of talent is readily available to meet business needs;
  • Maintain and update manual and computerized filing, within the Inuit Candidate database;
  • Create new hire offer letters and Contracts of Employment ensuring accuracy of terms and conditions in line with the role’s classification;
  • Successfully manage multiple priorities with a consistent track record of delivering on-time, high quality results; and
  • Responsible for the onboarding of new hires, including the completion and processing of all associated paperwork and communications of same to Payroll, Site Personnel Coordination, and Information Technology.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will have prior experience working in a remote setting. Additionally, they will have:

  • Two (2) years of experience in administration within a high-volume talent acquisition or sales team;
  • Experience in the mining and resource industry is a significant asset;
  • Completion of a post-secondary diploma in Business Management, Human Resources, Sales & Marketing or a related field;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Superior skills with Microsoft Office products; and
  • Familiarity with an enterprise Applicant Tracking System (ATS) or Human Resources Information System (HRIS) is an asset.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The starting salary for this role is $80,000.00. Competitive benefits will be discussed with the successful candidate.
