Summary:
SIDE Group is looking for an experienced Human Resource Manager. This position is responsible for developing and delivering Human Resources strategies that support the SIDE’s strategic goals and objectives. The Human Resources Manager is also expected to contribute at both a strategic and operational level in order to identify HR priorities and recommend appropriate solutions. This position will provide expert professional advice and support to managers and staff in all aspects of human capital management, reflecting current employment legislation and best practices.
As the Human Resources (HR) Manager, your day to day responsibilities may include, but not be limited to:
Recruitment
· Lead company recruitment efforts, including creation and posting of career opportunities, candidate screening, interviewing, and job offer documentation
· Responsible for new employee on-boarding process, including liaison with Payroll/IT.
Analysis of current and future staffing needs
· Payroll, employee benefits and burden analysis, including reporting on an as-needed basis, including KPI’s, employee retention, and trends
· Assist in analysis of compensation of potential positions
· Manage employee performance review process
· Handle termination-related matters and prepare termination documentation
Policy and procedure
· Implement and administer employee policies and promote positive employee relations, in accordance with compliance to Human Rights and Employment Standards in both Alberta and British Columbia
Advise and Support
· To provide coaching and mentoring to management and leaders on human resources matters
· Manage employee relation issues and conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations when required
Qualifications:
· Degree in Human Resources and 4 to 6 years Human Resource Management experience
· CPHR or CPHR candidate is considered an asset
· Strong generalist knowledge of HR areas, i.e. compensation and benefits, policies and procedures, recruitment, training and development, and performance management
· A strong understanding of best practices and current federal and provincial employment legislation specific to HR, for Alberta and British Columbia
· Experience in conflict management
· Excellent verbal and written communication
· Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills
· A high level of integrity, confidentiality, professionalism, and accountability
· Strong computer skills, with background in Microsoft Office applications and flexibility to learn new payroll systems (Payworks)
