ROLE AND RESPONSABILITIES

Reporting to the Logistics Director, the Logistics Supervisor is responsible for managing, supervising and mobilization of the Drivers Team. The person in this role must oversee and ensure good functioning of the Fromagerie’s vehicle and drivers on the road. This person is also responsible of the vehicle preventive maintenance programand ensures the occupational Health and Safety as well as the Food Safety rules are being followed while maintaining a good working climate.

MAIN TASKS

  • Represent St-Abert Cheese and act in a courteous and professional manner at all times;
  • Ensure management, supervision and mobilization of the drivers team;
  • Plan, modify, review delivery roads, procurement transportation and inter-sites delivery;
  • Participate, with the Director of Logistics, in the customers delivery process optimization and efficiency, as well as procurement transportation and inter-sites delivery (cost/service), throughout process analysis and the a specialized Computer System (TMS);
  • Verify and correct the drivers’ hours and approve them in the pay system as per specific deadlines
  • Ensure, in collaboration with the Director of Logistics, that drivers comply with the Ministry of Transportation and Health and Safety Standards (Ontario and Québec)
  • Regular monitoring of the activities and results; by putting in place and tracking reliable reporting tools (costs, performance key indictors)
  • Manage the entire delivery truck fleet: purchase or lease, usage and costs
  • Respect and enforce respect of all internal policies and procedures
  • Manage maintenance of the entire truck fleet: routine maintenance, compliance, maintenance and repair, parts and supplies, internally or subcontracted
  • Ensure training and qualification compliance for the drivers team
  • Contribute in establishing working procedures and continuous improvement
  • Verify and classify roadmaps and safety inspection reports, by integrating efficiently all the scheduled software upgrades
  • Can integrate at any time any study, research or project in conjuction with Distribution services or Logistics;
  • Perform other related duties.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • Possess relevant delivery and distribution experience;
  • Collegial Degree in Logistics or other appropriate field;
  • 2 years experience in a similar position;
  • Experience and training in supervision and continuous improvement (asset)
  • Experience in the food industry, with awareness of food safety (asset)
  • Demonstrate superior sense of health and safety compliance at work as well as the sanitation practices in place.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism;
  • Be able to lift up items that may weigh over 20 kg;
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clear driver record;
  • Competency in IT project management and analysis of key data (costs, performance key indictors)
  • Be meticulous and detail-oriented;
  • Possess a sense of responsibility, self-reliance and resourcefulness;
  • Be versatile, flexible and reliable;
  • Have an open mind and be able to adapt to changes;
  • Ability to work within a team;

  • DCS / DEC (preferred)
