POSITION: Digital Health Strategist

SALARY: $43.40 – $54.25
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Clinical Informatics Digital Health Strategist (DHS) is a clinician that is responsible for leading, advancing and advocating the advancements of digital health throughout the organization in collaboration with our external regional partners. The DHS is a trusted advisor and subject matter expert in the field of digital health technology including the Hospital’s Electronic Health Record (EHR), and other digital clinical tools that will advance patient care, improve outcomes, create efficiencies and support digital transformation in alignment with the strategic goals of the organization. In addition, the DHS will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing and managing digital health projects and supporting and teaching leaders, staff and physicians digital tools that will support patient care and advance our digital health journey.
The position will provide day-to-day oversight to ensure alignment and project delivery of Clinical Informatics initiatives to support this strategy. In addition, this position serves as the primary Clinical Informatics representative for all internal and regional Clinical Informatics activities, initiatives and projects.
In addition to the above, some of the primary responsibilities include:
- Support the Chief Information Officer and STEGH stakeholders in planning, developing and prioritizing activities to support digital health strategies and advancements throughout the organization
- Provide day-to-day oversight to ensure alignment and project delivery of clinical informatics and digital health initiatives
- Provides oversight and direction to new digital health advancements
- Act as a key clinical and digital health change advocate
- Engage and liaise with all clinicians, physicians, and corporate teams to support digital advancements, and seek opportunities for improvements
- Support clinical data analytics and clinical business intelligence within STEGH by ensuring systems are designed and implemented to facilitate ease of reporting and analysis.
HOURS:
This position must be available to work 37.50 hours per week. In addition, this position must be flexible to occasional changes in hours when required.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Successful completion of a BScN, and registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario or equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience of clinical experience in a hospital setting, with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of clinical processes and digital health technologies;
- Minimum of three (3) years’ previous experience in clinical informatics in a hospital environment is preferred;
- LEAN value stream mapping, LEAN yellow/green belt or process mapping course;
- Knowledge of adult learning/teaching principles with ability to facilitate and lead training classes for end users;
- Advanced working knowledge of Oracle Cerner Systems is an asset;
- Ability to liaise successfully between STEGH leadership, Physicians and end users including managing conflict and leading people through change;
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, ever changing environment;
- Advanced Computer skills to include the regular use of Microsoft software applications, Cerner, and other Clinical applications.
- Team and customer focused with the ability to communicate respectfully in a pleasant, flexible and professional manner with all patients, families, staff and volunteers;
- Open to change and is proactive to departmental and organizational initiatives;
- Demonstrated dependable and acceptable performance and attendance record
Successful candidates must provide evidence of a fully completed COVID-19 vaccination status prior to your first day of work.
