Job Summary:
Galore Creek Mining Corporation is seeking a Logistics & Procurement Specialist to support field operations at the Galore Creek Project in northwest British Columbia. Initially reporting to the Field Operations Supervisor, this role is primarily responsible for planning and coordinating purchasing and shipping of goods and materials in support of the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the project in accordance with GCMC policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
Overview:
Galore Creek Mining Corp. currently operates two camps on the project site. One road accessible camp (~96 person capacity) and one helicopter supported camp (~131 person capacity). Start date for this role is anticipated to be March 2023 and it is anticipated to run until November 2023.
This position may be based at the Galore Creek project site on a 17 days in,11 days out rotational basis inclusive of paid travel or be based out of the Smithers, BC office. This rotation is subject to change as planning evolves.

Responsibilities:
- Act as a Courageous Safety Leader, leading by example and fostering a proactive safety and sustainability culture on the common values of health, safety, environment, and social responsibility shared by Teck and Newmont (the Partners).
- Administrate the purchasing and logistics of consumables, equipment, and supplies, including cost tracking, scheduling and tracking of deliveries.
- Receive deliveries on behalf of GCMC and verify incoming goods against invoices and Purchase Orders; record and report damaged or missing goods.
- Develop and maintain inventories of onsite consumables and supplies.
- Work with Department leads to develop a monthly and quarterly supply chain plan including schedules and priorities.
- Monitor supply chain plans on a daily basis and communicate adjustments, and potentially delayed/long-lead time materials to the supervisory team to ensure commitments and objectives are met.
- Submission and tracking of Purchase Orders and cost accruals.
- Organization of ground deliveries and specialized trucking to/from site.
- Monitoring of shipment offloading to ensure goods are not damaged.

Qualifications:
- University degree qualification or diploma in a technical subject is a strong asset.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of softwares is required.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to complete work in a timely manner is required.
- Previous experience working in logistics and procurement is a strong asset.
- Previous experience working in a remote camp setting is strong asset.
- Previous work experience in Mining, Forestry, Oil & Gas, or Shipping is a strong asset.
- Ability to work in remote terrain, uneven surfaces, and all-weather conditions.
- Hold a valid driver’s license.
- WHMIS certification is an asset.
