What You’ll Do
Design and develop service equipment, tools, and systems for the Tesla robotaxi, including jigs, gauges, and testing equipment Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify service tooling needs and develop solutions that meet the needs of our technicians and customers Work hands on to build and test your designs, collaborating closely with a team of expert service and engineering technicians Apply your expertise in automation and mechanical design to inform design decisions and ensure tooling meets the needs of our products Develop and maintain detailed design documentation, including CAD models, drawings, and specifications Work hands-on to build and test your designs, collaborating closely with a team of expert service and engineering technicians Designing and develop tooling and equipment for our other vehicle platforms for service centers around the globe What You’ll Bring
Ideal candidate would be a multitalented engineer eager to learn and take on a wide variety of different engineering disciplines to create cohesive and integrated solutions 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, manufacturing, or automation Automation skills, including experience with robotics and automation systems Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience Additional experience in electronics and/or software development a strong plus Proficiency in CAD design tools, such as CATIA or SolidWorks Demonstrated experience developing solutions, documentation, and supporting the deployment of those solutions Strong inclination for first principals’ problem solving Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, and assembly Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for cost (DFC) principles Benefits

$80,000 – $300,000/annual salary, depending on level + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
