OVERVIEW
The Front Desk Manager is responsible for leading and developing a motivated, organized and empowered Front Desk team (including Bell Staff, Concierge and Security) that will provide the level of service, professional work standard and care that exceeds guest expectations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proactively leads the Front Desk team by creating a positive environment where motivated employees want to learn, excel and create memorable experiences for our guests.
- Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example.
- Effectively respond and resolve guest concerns/complaints.
- Responsible for establishing department objectives, policies and procedures, designed to provide service levels, which exceed the expectations of both internal departments and guests.
- Participates in interviewing, training and performance management of all Front Desk team members.
- Monitors work hours, scheduling and vacation planning of the Front Desk team while adhering to budgeted labour costs based on hotel occupancy and work volumes.
- Builds strong relationships with all departments in the hotel, particularly with departments where operational functions interrelate (i.e. Housekeeping, Maintenance, Reservations).
- Performs the duties of Front Desk team members when required.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
ATTRIBUTES & QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 years leadership experience in either a guest or customer focused environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Committed to delivering the highest level of guest service and satisfaction.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in a team environment, giving direction and delegating tasks.
- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to develop and motivate staff to achieve goals.
- Ability to work with all employees to promote teamwork and co-operative relationships within and across departments.
- Ability to provide ongoing coaching to staff to enhance performance.
- Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel & Power Point;
- Qualified applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada and, where applicable, possess a valid work or study permit that allows the candidate to fulfill the requirements of the role.
