We are hiring an Accounting Manager for a client in the cryptocurrency space, a leading cryptocurrency exchange.

About The Company:

There is no better place to get into the web3 industry than working hands-on at a crypto company. Our client is a well-known crypto trading exchange founded a few years back in Toronto. It has recently raised over $10 million in funding and is looking to expand the business. Their goal is to become the leading crypto exchange in Canada.

About the Role:

As an accounting manager your role includes, but is not limited to:

• Responsible for full-cycle accounting and ensuring quality delivery of monthly financial statements
• Lead the accounting process set up for new products, new business lines, and new business practices by working closely with key stakeholders
• Review and update accounting policies and procedures to comply with IFRS principles
• Review junior associate’s work and provide coaching through sharing of experiences and best practices
• Lead the annual financial statements audit to ensure completion promptly and with minimal adjustments
• Participate in process improvements to streamline the month-end closing process
• Solid knowledge of tax reporting requirements and liaison with tax firms
• Assist in the development and implementation of new internal control policies and procedures
• Assist with ad-hoc projects across the Finance team

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a relevant field
• At least 3 years of accounting experience with a gradual increase in responsibilities
• At least 1-year full cycle accounting experience or equivalent skills, preferably in the financial service industry
• Familiar with accounting software, such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or equivalent
• Solid understanding of IFRS accounting principles
• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfortable in dealing with a large amount of data
• Strong problem-solver with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy through performing self-reviews
• Must be comfortable being Hands-On and demonstrate the ability to operate with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Excellent communication skills in working with various stakeholders
• Enthusiasm in the blockchain industry is a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally

Knowledge of cryptocurrency and blockchain is a bonus
